A wide-range of temperatures, weather ahead for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures across the South, East, and lower Midwest, while colder-than-normal conditions will cover areas along and west of a line from the southern High Plains to Lake Michigan. 

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across much of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in southern sections of the Rockies and High Plains.
