An Oregon woman’s challenge to a lawsuit from the state’s Department of Health and Human Services failed Thursday after the state Court of Appeals reversed her motion to strike under the state’s anti-SLAPP statute and remanded for further proceedings.
The Oregon DHS filed an action seeking contribution from defendant Jennifer L. Stewart for the department’s potential liability in a separate action regarding its failure to protect Stewart’s child from abuse that occurred when she was a ward of the state.
