Nikki Haley announces 2024 presidential run
Former Governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, officially announced her run for president in 2024, The Washington Post reports.
Haley, who is also a former President Donald Trump administration staffer, is so far the only Republican other than Trump to announce a presidential run.
The former United Nations Ambassador announced her run by tweeting a video with the caption, "Get excited! Time for a new generation. Let's do this!"

Haley suggests in the video, "it's time for a new generation of leadership," to "rediscover fiscal responsibility, secure our border and strengthen our country, our pride and our purpose."
She concluded the three minute announcement with, “Some people look at America and see vulnerability. The socialist left sees an opportunity to rewrite history. China and Russia are on the march. They all think we can be bullied, kicked around. You should know this about me: I don’t put up with bullies. And when you kick back, it hurts them more if you’re wearing heels.”
