Penn State put the finishing touches on another top 15 recruiting class last week when offensive tackle Chimdy Onoh officially joined the Nittany Lions 23-player list of signees. That list includes Berks County natives Joey Schlaffer (tight end) and J'Ven Williams (offensive tackle) and three-star quarterback Jaxson Smolik.

The Nittany Lions are coming off an 11-2 season that included a Rose Bowl victory and a No. 7 finish in the AP's top 25 poll. Four-year starting quarterback Sean Clifford will depart the program ― leaving a path for five-star recruit Drew Allar to fill the void or perhaps be challenged by York County's own Beau Pribula.

Penn State will also need to replace key starters including safety Ji'Ayir Brown, corner Joey Porter Jr. and wide receiver Parker Washington.

Its incoming recruiting class is considered strong on the offensive line, which has typically been a unit of weakness under head coach James Franklin. A strong front five next season will be key for a team with a new starting quarterback and a pair of star running back in Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen.
