[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] There’s nothing much we can do about this sluggish feeling that January has brought (I can hardly get out of bed in the morning!) but my feeling is that we don’t have to look how we feel if we don’t want to. One of the products from St Tropez I was really keen to try was the St Tropez Luxe Tan Tonic Drops to add just a bit of warmth to my somewhat pale complexion. I usually use Tan Luxe which I rate very highly so was keen to see what the competition can offer :-).

St Tropez Luxe Tan Tonic Drops Review

In the past, I’ve had some complexion dryness from using tanning drops on my face so I mix with whatever moisturiser I’m using that day and if you’ve got any dry patches (I have one on the side of my face) make sure you either avoid them when applying or use a cotton bud to take off the tan after you’ve applied. I mean, I don’t bother to avoid because I really don’t mind face characteristics like that – if I remember, I do but otherwise, no. Both use DHA but don’t confuse them with the older versions of DHA which had a notoriously orange tint – not the same and won’t make you orange. Both also use hyaluronic acid to counter dryness.

St Tropez Luxe Tan Tonic Drops Review

This is how I split the moisturiser and tan – you need two drops for a light tan, three for medium and so on – but start on two and adapt if needed. In terms of ‘strength’ I find that St Tropez gives a quicker result and I think perhaps a slightly deeper result. It hasn’t felt harsh on my skin at all and it smells mildly fruity rather than the familiar (old) biscuit scent. I love my complexion being warmer – it makes such a visible difference in terms of looking more ‘myself’ and it’s notable that these milder formulas for faces don’t seem to need a ‘base’ tan to sit on. I always found that if I was just slightly sun kissed, self tan always looked better than if it had been added to a completely pale face but that’s really not the case with St Tropez. As a side bonus, I don’t need to change my tinted moisturiser to a paler shade. St Tropez is on offer at Sephora for £24 (from £30) HERE.
