Woman dies over the weekend in Route 30 crash in Springettsbury Township

A 55-year-old woman from Lancaster County died over the weekend in a two-vehicle crash on Route 30 in Springettsbury Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Mary P. Escobar of the 100 block of Ashley Drive in Ephrata died of multiple blunt force trauma, the coroner's office said. The manner is accidental.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Route 30 and North Hills Road.

Escobar was driving east on Route 30 when her vehicle crashed into a truck tractor that had been stopped at a red light. The rig was not pulling a trailer, the coroner's office said.

Witnesses reported that Escobar's vehicle appeared to increase speed just before the impact, the coroner's office said.

Springettsbury Township Police are investigating the crash.
