Fox News hosts mocked for awkward blunder as they inadvertently offered a resolution for their own complaint
A new montage is highlighting the irony of Fox News hosts' puzzlement over Republican voters' apprehension about early voting and mail-in voting following Georgia Republican Senate hopeful Herschel Walker's runoff defeat.
According to HuffPost, the montage was featured on "The Daily Show" with Trevor Noah. In the clip, Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Brian Kilmeade expressed frustration and concern as they discussed Walker, who was backed by former President Donald Trump.
So, why were Republicans so reluctant? The montage also included contradictory clips that showed the hosts echoing Trump's remarks condemning mail-in voting amid his claims of widespread voter fraud.
The clip began with a current remark from Hannity who said, "I think Republicans have been unwilling, for whatever reason, reluctant, resistant to voting early and voting by mail."
He continued, "We're going to bring you a critical warning that the rest of the media mob won't tell you about and that is mail-in voter fraud. It is real."
Then the clip shifted to Ingraham highlighting how her remarks have shifted in wake of the Georgia Senate runoff upset.
"We just have to do better in terms of ballot harvesting and early voting to match the Democrat efforts," Ingraham said. "They want early voting because they want everyone to mail, mail and vote because I think that's going to help Democrats has nothing to do with this virus"
Lastly, the clip featured Kilmeade who recently said, "I think people are going to have to reevaluate the whole approach to early voting, the whole approach to the dropboxes and everything else."
However, the montage highlighted that he previously had a completely different perspective. "Putting dropboxes everywhere, being very loose with unrequested ballots, absentee ballots," Kilmeade previously said. The President tweeting that mail drop boxes used for the upcoming election could lead to fraud. Republicans in many states are reluctant."
He added, "They are related, resistant to early voting or voting by mail. Republicans warning about the dangers of mass mail and ballots being sent to here, there everywhere warning about how it would inject more division chaos and opportunity for fraud in our elections."
