San Angelo has lost another seafood restaurant as of this past weekend.

Red Lobster closed its doors on Sunday and posted a flyer on the front door stating the location at 3909 Sunset Drive was permanently closed - seemingly ending the restaurant's nearly 40-year-run in San Angelo.

"Thank you for your support over the years we look forward to serving you at other Red Lobster locations in the future," the flyer stated. "We invite you to visit us in Abilene at 1280 St. Clark Street."

All signs and logos have already been stripped from the building. It's not immediately clear what will become of the building.

Red Lobster released a brief statement confirming the location's closure after nearly 40 years in San Angelo.

"After more than 38 years of being part of the San Angelo community, we have made the difficult decision to close our restaurant at 3909 Sunset Drive," reads the statement Red Lobster shared with local media. As part of our normal course of business, we continuously monitor restaurant performance and may from time to time choose to close or relocate restaurants like this. Members of the management team at the San Angelo location have been offered transfers to other Red Lobster restaurants, and we are working with other restaurants in the area to help our team members find new employment opportunities."
