RFA: ethanol exports down in October

U.S. ethanol exports fell 17% from September to October. Those sales are impacted by several factors, including strength in the dollar relative to other currencies, which makes U.S. goods more expensive on the export market.

The Renewable Fuels Association says the monthly total was 83.8 million gallons, with Canada taking in more than half, holding onto the top slot for the nineteenth month in a row. The other major destinations were India, the European Union, Mexico, and South Korea.

Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles were 798,100 tons and down 9% on the month, with Mexico leading the way for the fourth month in a row, followed by Vietnam and South Korea.

U.S. ethanol imports for October were 16 million gallons, all from Brazil.

For the year to date, U.S. ethanol exports are 1.2 billion gallons, 22% ahead of 2021 and DDGS exports are 9.39 million tons, 2% behind, while U.S. ethanol imports are at 58.4 million gallons, just about unchanged.
