DELTA TWP. - The Lansing area's first Crumbl Cookies location is set to open this week.

The store, 501 N. Marketplace Blvd., will open at 8 a.m. Friday, according to Andrew Lord, a member of the franchise ownership team. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place that morning at the 1,400-square-foot store.

Andrew Lord of Crumbl Cookies, a Utah-based chain, will open in Delta Township Dec. 2.

Delays pushed back the store's opening by a few weeks, but Lord said the location's staff of more than 60 full- and part-time employees is ready to introduce the Utah-based cookie chain to mid-Michigan.

"We've been putting a lot of work into it, making sure that our bakers and mixer and shift leads, everybody, has the training that they need to be able to have success in their jobs, and to be able to give the customers a good experience," Lord said.

Crumbl Cookies has a dozen other locations in Michigan, but the closest to Lansing, in Grand Rapids and Novi, are each about an hour away.

Crumbl's menu rotates weekly, offering five or six different cookie flavors at a time. When it opens Friday, the new store's menu will include semi-sweet chocolate chunk, gingerbread cake, lemon crinkle, green mint featuring Andes, Boston cream pie and classic pink sugar. The menu changes every Monday.

The location will offer only in-person ordering during its first week, Lord said, who urged customers to be patient with the staff.

Beginning Dec. 7, delivery, curbside pickup, catering and nationwide shipping will be available via the Crumbl App and online at Crumbl.com.

"A lot of people who are new to Crumbl, we want their first experience to be one in the store, where they get to see what we're about, to see people baking the cookies right in front of them, the smiles on the faces of the bakers as they're greeted when they walk in the door."
