34% of U.S. winter wheat rated good to excellent

The final national crop progress and condition report for 2022 showed a slight improvement in the USDA’s good to excellent rating for winter wheat.

As of Sunday, 34% of U.S. winter wheat is rated good to excellent, 2% above a week ago, with the poor to very poor section at 26%, 7% below the previous week, and 40% of the crop called fair, 5% higher.

91% of winter wheat has emerged, compared to the five-year average of 90%.

84% of cotton has been harvested, compared to 79% on average.

The USDA’s next round of production estimates is scheduled for December 9th.
