Temps to vary across the Heartland, an active pattern ahead

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures from the Pacific Coast to the northern half of the Plains and the upper Midwest, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail south and east of a line from New Mexico to Lake Huron.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in the lower Southeast and Pacific Northwest should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions across the remainder of the country.
