Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) recently posted about the apparent need for better “candidate quality” in the Republican Party. Unfortunately for the controversial lawmaker, that argument quickly backfired and resulted in Twitter users mercilessly mocking her.

On Friday, November 11, Greene took to Twitter with a lengthy rant expressing her concerns. "How about candidate quality, individual campaign work ethic & ability, and their campaign strategies? Did the individual campaigns execute to win?" Greene tweeted. "These are more difficult to discuss but they are factors as well."

She continued tweeting, "A glaring reality that is seemingly an immovable fact is that the media is largely left-leaning which means that every Republican candidate isn’t just running against their Democrat opponent, they are also running against the major media corporations in America."

The Georgia lawmaker went on to offer her suggestion for what could possibly improve the candidate pool.

"We should start declaring politically biased news in-kind donations if we really want to level the playing field in order to stop the media from using their all-powerful platforms as campaign arms of the DCCC. It takes a tremendous fight to beat the media," she added.

Greene also urged Republicans to "fight smarter."

"Change strategies and actually play the game," the lawmaker tweeted. "If Republican mega-donors & Republican organizations want to really finally win, they should buy media and big tech companies and get the message out. Fight smarter."

It didn't take long for Twitter users to begin chiming in with their reactions. Some even highlighted the irony in Greene's remarks. It's no secret that Greene was stripped of her House committee duties after supporting social media posts that called for the murder of Democratic lawmakers.

"You talking about candidate quality is a huge oxymoron!," one user tweeted.

"Candidate Quality?!!!" another user tweeted. "Good one! You’re ground zero for disgraceful candidates that shouldn’t run for dog catcher let alone Congress!!"
