Female robber threatened to shoot tellers at Franklin County bank, police say

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a robbery at a Franklin County bank that happened Tuesday morning.

A female entered Community State Bank, 350 N. Main St., Mercersburg, about 9:45 a.m. and told the tellers to put money into a black bag she provided them, according to police.

The robber threatened to shoot the tellers if they did not cooperate, but she did not display any weapon, police said.

The suspect in the Nov. 1 robbery of Community State Bank, Mercersburg, Police said the suspect is a 30- to 40-year-old woman with a dark complexion, a medium build, a height of 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches and curly hair that could be a wig, and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark sneakers at the time of the robbery.

After getting the cash, the female left the bank and got into a silver Chevrolet Sonic, a subcompact car. The vehicle was seen traveling west on Buchanan Trail West.

Police described the robber as 30 to 40 years old, with a dark complexion, medium build and a height of about 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches. She had curly hair, which police said could have been a wig.

At the time of the robbery, she was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black/dark blue sneakers with white trim. She was also wearing eyeglasses and a medical-style face covering.
