Santa Ana winds of up to 35 mph are forecast Monday for Ventura County, but no damage is expected, the National Weather Service said.

Meteorologist David Sweet said the winds will probably arrive around 8 a.m. and be gone by Monday night.

The hot, dry winds are expected to blow from 15 to 25 mph on the beaches with gusts to 40 mph. They are forecast at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph in Camarillo and eastern Ventura, but will be slightly stronger in the east county with speeds of 20 to 35 mph and gusts up to 40 mph.

The weather service has issued a wind advisory indicating that the winds will be of the nuisance variety, but won’t inflict any serious damage, Sweet said.

Residents may want to bring light outdoor furniture such as small deck chairs inside and probably exercise caution while driving, but pets should be fine, he said.

The advisory lasts from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.
