A drier pattern to continue across the Heartland, with near-seasonal temperatures

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of warmer-than-normal weather west of the Rockies and from the middle Mississippi Valley to the Gulf Coast, while near- to below-normal temperatures prevail elsewhere.

Drier-than-normal conditions are expected from the central and northern Pacific Coast into the upper Midwest as well as from the Mid-Atlantic into southern New England.  Conversely, above-normal rainfall is expected across much of the Four Corners and southern Plains in addition to central and southern Florida.
