Tennessee farmers take advantage of good harvest weather

Tennessee farmers were busy harvesting corn, soybeans, cotton, and hay last week.

USDA’s new crop report shows the harvest pace for corn and cotton trailing five-year averages, while soybean harvest is slightly ahead of normal at 21 percent.

Winter wheat planting is 11 percent done, matching the usual pace.

Reporters noted moisture is needed in West Tennessee as well as central sections of the state.
