Milk futures higher, cash dairy mostly lower

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange turned around in a typically Tuesday fashion as traders took back oversold positions while cash trade was mostly lower despite strong butter movement.

October Class III milk up 47 cents at $21.29. November increased 20 cents to $20.50. December up 12 cents at $20.29. January 15 cents higher at $20.23. February through April contracts one to 10 cents lower.

Dry whey down $0.0075 at $0.4450.

Blocks down $0.0025 at $2.0075.

Barrels down $0.0050 at $2.17.

Butter up $0.0225 at $3.1550. Twenty-three trades were made from $3.1350 to $3.1550.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.0175 at $1.5625.
