42% of Tennessee corn, 13% of soybeans harvested

The USDA says dry conditions continued last week in Tennessee. Corn harvest is 42% complete, running behind the 5-year average. The crop is 89% mature.

Soybeans harvest is 13% complete with 55% dropping leaves and 56% rated good to excellent. Cotton is rated 51% good to excellent with 57% of bolls opening. Just 2% of the crop is harvested.

Pastures are rated 51% good to excellent.
