The 2023-24 Season promises to be a season full of great repertoire, amazing soloists, and a new initiative —Inside the Music. Experience the power of music together at the beautiful Ohio Theatre.

November 17-18, 2023, Beethoven Pastoral Symphony | 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
January 19-20, 2024, Time for Three | 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Join us for an exhilarating program featuring genre-defying string trio Time for Three. The group performs Kevin Puts’ Contact, which was written for them and draws inspiration from themes of reaching out and connection. Symphonie fantastique, Berlioz’ programmatic fever dream, depicts a young artist’s journey through obsession and delirium.
February 3 & 4, 2024, Stravinsky Firebird Suite | 7:30pm and 2pm | Ohio Theatre
See the Columbus Symphony perform a program of Stravinsky’s “The Firebird” Suite, Tomasi’s “Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra,” and Dawson’s “Negro Folk Symphony!” The talented saxophonist Steven Banks performs as a guest artist.
February 23 & 24, 2024, Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 | 10am and 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Guest conductor Carl St. Clair leads the Columbus Symphony in a program featuring a recent work by John Wineglass that addresses the social issues faced during the pandemic. Pianist Claire Huangci returns with Tchaikovsky’s monumental first piano concerto. Brahms’ final symphony, the magnificent Symphony No. 4, completes the program.
March 22 & 23, 2024, Rachmaninoff Symphony No. 1 | 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Described by the Chicago Tribune as “a fluent, stylish and gifted musician whose brilliant technique is matched by an abundant spirit, sensitivity and imagination,” Finnish-American violinist Elina Vähälä makes her Columbus Symphony debut with one of her favorite works: Jean Sibelius’ celebrated violin concerto.
April 5 & 6, 2024, Beethoven, Mozart, & Haydn | 10 am & 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Haydn’s Symphony No. 82 and Mozart’s Symphony No. 31 share a connection to Paris. Haydn’s is the first of the composer’s six “Paris Symphonies,” commissioned by a popular Parisian concert presenter. Mozart’s symphony was written while the 22-year-old composer spent time in the City of Light, and is nicknamed “Paris Symphony.”
April 19 & 20, 2024, Tchaikovsky & Prokofiev | 10 am & 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Hear Columbus Symphony concertmaster Joanna Frankel perform Prokofiev’s hauntingly beautiful second violin concerto, a staple of the solo violin repertoire.
Also on the program, Rossen Milanov leads the orchestra’s string section in Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, originally written as a string quartet and later expanded for string orchestra.
May 3 & 4, 2024, The Return of Natasha Paremski | 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Make a trip to the Ohio Theatre to see the incredible Columbus Symphony in person! Guest pianist Natasha Paremski performs Rachmaninoff’s dazzling Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Also on the program are Grammy-nominated composer Anna Clyne’s This Moment, as well as Strauss’s Rosenkavalier Suite drawn from his comic opera.
May 17 & 18, 2024, Beethoven Symphony No. 2 | 10 am & 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Rising conductor Kenneth Bean joins the CSO for this engaging program. Cellist Thomas Mesa performs two works: a new cello concerto by Jessie Montgomery, current composer-in-Residence at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, one of the most beloved works in the cello repertoire. Bookending the program are Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides, inspired by the composer’s travel to Scotland, and Beethoven’s engaging second symphony.
May 24 & 25, 2024, Mozart’s Mass in C minor | 7:30pm | Ohio Theatre
Mozart’s sublime Mass in C minor was, like his Requiem, left unfinished at the time of his death. Numerous scholars have published reconstructions of the work. The edition used for these concerts is a new completion by German musicologist Ulrich Leisinger, premiered in Germany in 2019.

Senior Discount for Columbus Symphony
Those ages 65 years and up qualify for a senior discount. Just request the discount when calling or purchasing in person.
Student Discount for Columbus Symphony
Any high school or college student with a valid student ID may come into the CBUSArts Ticket Center the week of the show (starting on Monday at 9am) and purchase up to two tickets per valid ID. This is valid for Masterworks and other select concerts. Not valid in top-price level seating areas.
Columbus Symphony College Club
Students can purchase a $25 annual membership and get free admission for one to all Masterworks concerts and post-concert events all season long, along with special membership emails.
College Club Members may purchase up to four (4) additional student tickets for each Masterworks performance at $8 each. Each additional discount ticket may be asked to show a student ID upon entry to the theatre.
The additional tickets can be purchased starting on Monday the week of the show. Must show student ID when using your College Club Membership Card.
