CME milk futures fall, cash dairy steady to lower Thursday

Milk futures fell again and cash dairy prices were steady to falling on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Thursday.

September Class III milk was down $0.41 at $20.26.  October closed down $0.50 at $20.30.  November was down $0.46 at $21.00.  December was down $0.37 to $20.85.  January through July contracts ranged from unchanged in May and July to twenty-eight cents lower in February. 

Dry whey remains unchanged at $0.45 with no sales activity.

Cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.8775.  Cheese Barrels were unchanged for a third straight session at $1.9475 and there were no sales recorded for either blocks or barrels for a third straight day. 

Butter went down $0.0350 closing at $2.9550.  Ten sales were recorded from $2.95 to $2.9925.

Nonfat dry milk closed down $0.0150 at $1.52.  One sale was recorded at $1.5250.
