South Dakota harvest pace running close to normal

Harvest is progressing across South Dakota.

The latest weekly crop report from USDA says winter wheat is 94 percent harvested, spring wheat is at 72 percent, and 82 percent of the oat crop is out.

Corn is maturing close to the five-year average, with 50 percent considered good to excellent.

For soybeans, 74 percent are setting pods and 55 percent are called good to excellent.

Dryness continues to stress pastures, with just 21 percent in the good to excellent category.
