1 dead, 1 injured after motorcycle crash on West 85th Street in Sioux Falls

One person is dead and another is injured, following a motorcycle crash Saturday evening in Sioux Falls.

First responders were called at about 5:45p.m. to West 85th Street and South Hughes Avenue for a car crash, according to a press release from the Sioux Falls Police Department.

A white Dodge Ram pickup was headed westbound on 85th Street when it collided with the motorcycle, also headed westbound, the release stated. 

An adult female from Sioux Falls, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, died at the scene. Her age and name was not given.

The driver of the motorcycle, an adult male from Sioux Falls, was taken to a local hospital for severe injuries. His age and name has not been released. 

Police are still investigating the crash, and shut down the traffic through the area for several hours Saturday night. 

It's unclear whether the two motorcycle riders were wearing helmets, or whether the person in the white truck may face any charges.
