EVANSVILLE — A man missing since early July has been found dead, according to the Evansville Police Department.

Patrick White, 57, was reported missing July 7 after he had not been seen by his neighbors or his family since April. The EPD issued a news release Aug. 3 stating they had not been able to locate White to check his welfare.

According to a news release sent Friday evening, police received a tip Tuesday that prompted them to ask for a search warrant for a home in the 1800 block of South Linwood.

"Once inside the residence, detectives located a deceased male that was covered in a tarp and wrapped in twine," the release states.

Based on information given to EPD detectives, it was believed the male was White. The Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office completed the autopsy confirming it was White and ruling his cause of death a gunshot wound.

EPD detectives and SWAT served a search warrant Friday morning that resulted in the arrest of Michael L. Thomas. The 33-year-old is currently booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on a murder charge.
