'May the Fourth be with you' this Cinco de Mayo weekend. Check out all the fun activities happening near you.

FRIDAY

The Biggest Week in American Birding | Various locations | Times vary

The Biggest Week in American Birding is back in northwest Ohio. Be in the Warbler Capital of the World to celebrate the peak of spring bird migration on the Lake Erie Marsh Region. Stop and take in the sights as you stroll around and bird watch. 

Black Swamp Bird Observatory will be offering a series of accessible field trips during the week-long event with twenty binoculars available for those who don’t own a pair. For a full schedule of events, click here.

Toledo Tattoo Festival | Glass City Center | 12 p.m.

The Toledo Tattoo Festival returns to the Glass City Center this weekend. Visitors have the opportunity to get ink from over 200 of the best artists both local and worldwide and enter daily contests. Although some artists do book in advance, there will be opportunities each day to find an artist for a walk-up piece on a first come first serve basis. 

Tons of merchandise and supplies will be available from a variety of vendors. Doors open at noon on Friday, and at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. For tickets, click here

Tequila and Tapas | Toledo Zoo | 6 p.m.

Celebrate with friends at the Toledo Zoo Friday evening during Tequila and Tapas. Sample various tequilas, snack on gourmet small plates, and discover your new favorite cocktail while roaming different stations across the zoo. 

Tickets to this event include admission, parking, six tequila and food tasting samples, custom glassware with a signature drink, and live entertainment. For tickets, click here.

SATURDAY

May the Fourth Be with You 4K and Wookie 1K | Levis Commons | 10 a.m.

Get those running shoes laced up for the May the Fourth Be with You 4K and Wookie 1K at Levis Commons and Second Sole. The Wookie 1K begins at 8:45 a.m. while the main race follows at 9 a.m. 

Awards for best overall male and female will be given as well as random raffles for participants. All Wookie 1K finishers will also receive a medal. To sign up, click here.

Spring Fling Pop Up | Golden Hind Wine Bar | 10 a.m.

Support local and small businesses at the Spring Fling Pop Up event hosted at Golden Hind Wine Bar this Saturday. Starting at 10 a.m., browse around to find that perfect Mother's Day gift from a variety of vendors. This event is free to the public. For more information, click here.

Comedy for the Critters | Maumee Indoor Theater | 6 p.m.

Enjoy a night of wild laughter to help raise money for local wildlife during Comedy for the Critters at Maumee Indoor Theater. Featured comedians include Steve Sabo, Corey W. King, and Mark Knope – all nominees in The Toledo City Paper’s 2023 Best Of Edition.

SUNDAY

Finders Keepers Vintage Market | Lucas County Fairgrounds | 10 a.m.

Shop at over 150 vendors at Lucas County Fairgrounds on Sunday at the Finders Keepers Vintage Market. Shop locally made products, both vintage and new and stop at the many food trucks along the way. 

There is even an early bird hour offered between 10 and 11 a.m. for those who want a more relaxed shopping experience. For more information, click here.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration | Toledo Zoo | 11 a.m.

The annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration is being held at the Toledo Zoo Sunday morning. Enjoy local entertainers and fun cultural crafts and activities inside the historic Amphitheater. The fun kicks off at 11 a.m. For more information, click here.

Glovation Circus Extravaganza | Promenade Park | 4 p.m.

Check out some cool local performers at Promenade Park during the Glovation Circus Extravaganza event. Game and play areas will be set up to learn hula hooping, juggling, ribbon dancing, and more.
