'Their electoral strategy': Tucker Carlson stokes fear among viewers while blaming Dems for 'Great Replacement' theory
Fox News' Tucker Carlson is once again circulating reports about the so-called "Great Replacement" theory. During the Tuesday night broadcast of "The Tucker Carlson Show," the Fox News host made his arguments about the great replacement theory as he explained why he doesn't believe it's just another conspiracy.
“The great replacement? Yeah, it’s not a conspiracy theory. It’s their electoral strategy,” Carlson said as the headline "Democrats often celebrate demographic change” was displayed at the bottom of the screen.
“You’ve heard a lot about the great replacement theory recently; it’s everywhere … we’re still not sure exactly what it is,” he later said.
According to HuffPost, the theory centers around the belief that "white Christians are being intentionally replaced by immigrants, people of color and non-Christians." On multiple occasions, Carlson has also managed to tie the replacement theory to the various mass shootings that have taken place across the United States in the last several months.
Like Carlson, a number of mass shooters have also attempted to blame the great replacement theory for their actions. Among those are the suspects allegedly involved in the recent mass shootings that took place in Buffalo, N.Y., El Paso, Texas, and Christchurch, New Zealand.
Carlson's latest remarks have drawn more criticism as there are concerns about the dangerous rhetoric he is sharing with Fox News viewers. Matthew Gertz, a senior fellow at Media Matters, weighed in with his assessment of Carlson's broadcast.
“The difference between a Tucker Carlson monologue and a white supremacist mass murderer’s manifesto is the Tucker Carlson monologue gets aired in prime-time on the nation’s most-watched cable news network,” said Gertz.
