A bankruptcy judge in the Chapter 7 case of Girardi Keese has ordered Erika Girardi to turn over a pair of $750,000 diamond earrings, a potential asset dangling before a Chapter 7 trustee who is attempting to recoup funds for the firm’s former clients.

The trustee, Elissa Miller, had filed a motion to turn over the earrings, claiming that Tom Girardi purchased them in 2007 for $750,000 with a check drawn against a Girardi Keese client trust account that held settlements over diabetes drug Rezulin. The check, which had “costs” written in the ledger, was payable to M&M and deposited by M&M Jewelers.
