Clay Aiken – Waiting For A Response

Wednesday was an exciting and  busy day for Clay Aiken and all the people who support his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional district.

Through social media and other venues, Clay challenged his republican opponent, Renee Ellmers, to a debate.  I can’t wait to hear her response.  Will she ignore Clay, will she say she is too busy, or will she actually decide that a debate is a good idea?  The ball is now in her court and she needs to respond immediately.

The announcement that Clay sent out was posted here for the mid-day report on Wednesday.  You can see it on page 2.

What is the response you expect from Ms Ellmers?

The following are some fun pictures from Clay’s champaign!

2-9-14 Donuts for a Busload of Teachers!

Filing Day – Look at all those cameras!

5-21-14 Wake County Senior Democrats

June 11, 2014 – Commencement Speech at Weatherstone Elementary School

June 22, 2014 – Cumberland County Festival

Each of these pictures tells a great story!

I hope we get lots more pictures of Clay on the campaign trail.

As always, I hope you will check back for updates during the day.

Thank you for all your support of CANN!

  1. Ms Elmers should respond and participate in a debate for sure. Voters need to know the candidates and what they stand for. How else can they make an informed decision? Clay is smart. He wants people to know where he stands and what his ideas are.

  2. Thanks Martha for all the updates. My favourite pic to date is the one of Clay with the amazon. Clay and parrots….my two great loves. ☺

  3. I can't figure out why she has ignored the subject anyway. I think Renee thinks if she ignores Clay he will just go away. It would not make any sense for Renee NOT to debate. She will really look like she is worried.

  4. Clay and that parrot have on the same colored shirt! I agree that Ellmers thinks that if she doesn't respond to Clay, she will be safe from making a fool of herself. Too late!

  5. Yes, all candidates should voice their policies and ideas via debates. However, in Ms. Ellmers’ case, she would be taking a precarious step judging from some of her not-well-thought-out statements that have come back to haunt her. Clay, in a polite and probably humorous manner, would run rings around her. In the end, I believe Clay’s honesty and sincerity will prevail, not to mention that he can speak in coherent sentences.
