NATIONAL THERAPY ANIMAL DAY

By Saturday, April 30, 2022 2 No tags Permalink

National Therapy Animal Day was created by Pet Partners to recognize all of the exceptional therapy animals who partner with their human companions to bring comfort and healing to those in need. Therapy animals and their handlers can be found helping people of all ages in a variety of settings including hospitals, pediatric care units, schools, and assisted living facilities.

April 30, 2022 is National Animal Day, and I’d like for you to meet some of the sweetest therapy animals I have the esteem pleasure of working with for as their program coordinator. #theycallmethedoglady

People say –

a picture is worth a thousand words

Well what’s the value of a video?…

Over the past twelve months, they’ve shared their holidays, pushed through multiple strains of a pandemic and even tolerated my annoying non-stop emails… #everysingleweek

WHY THE IMPORTANCE –

of having a National Therapy Animal Day?

To remind, introduce and educate all that these trained certified and registered animals are capable of doing by assisting medical personnel –

compassion – to stand bedside allowing strangers to love on your dog

empathy – towards our fatigued care team members, family members, and each other

Harold gives 154 lbs of love

eagerness – to train, coach, assist in making this program better

Bear continues to volunteers with Degenerative Myelopathy

Understanding – knowing the limitless possibilities of a therapy animal, and willing to go the distance…

Traveling to assist at Joint AFB Charleston

Their life of service is admirable – and – their gift of their Canine Therapists is pure love…

Sydney – the Ambassador to the Pit Bull Mix Therapy Dog (she’s the only one in Chas.)

And on behalf of the teams we work with, Jaxson has barked at me to give a special shout out to the campus Starbucks staff for appreciating the canine crew with a Puppachino… #helovesthatdairywhip

Thank you to therapy animal teams all over the world – for choosing to volunteer – and for sharing your fur baby!

All dogs are therapy dogs – some just freelance ❤️

What a pawtastic program you have ! Kudos to you and all the Dogtors for their great work. I smiled broadly throughout that video-to see other programs do such good work inspires me for our own program participation. Hats off to you, Cathy and a big round of ‘appaws’ for Jaxson for both of your great work! Hugs and tail wags.
