Enhancing Citrix DaaS Solutions

Citrix is excited to announce that we have redesigned our Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service offerings with a new set of features and capabilities. These new feature-rich desktops as a service (DaaS) offerings are now available as Citrix DaaS.

Many organizations are turning to desktops as a service (DaaS) as the cloud-based evolution of traditional app and desktop virtualization, or VDI, solutions with additional benefits such as faster and more flexible deployment options, simplified management and maintenance, enhanced security capabilities, and lower cost of ownership compared to traditional, on-premises VDI solutions. Citrix has long been recognized by key media outlets as a leader in the desktops-as-a-service industry and provides a robust set of capabilities with the flexibility to meet your DaaS needs.

However, DaaS business and technology needs are not the same for every organization. Some want more control over the end-to-end solution while others prefer a more vendor-managed option. Citrix DaaS solutions are positioned to align to these variations in customer and market preferences based on guidance from leading industry-analyst firms, our valued partner community, and you — our current and future customers.

Our Citrix DaaS offerings are focused on two key categories: hybrid cloud and hyperscaler-specific. Let’s start with our robust hybrid, multi-cloud offerings designed to simplify and accelerate your cloud journey, introducing:

  • Citrix DaaS Premium Plus During our design efforts, you requested a comprehensive Citrix DaaS solution that combines all the best-in-breed Citrix technologies for delivering apps and desktops across hybrid clouds. This new package combines all the capabilities of our Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Premium service plus new features that strengthen the security of your deployment such as app protection — that protects against key loggers and screen-capture malware — and our adaptive authentication service, which strengthens the overall security posture by intelligently adjusting authentication requirements based on user scenarios. In addition, DaaS Premium Plus includes our robust, fast-growing set of Citrix Analytics services — Performance and Security Analytics — that enhance the user experience, help to control costs, and thwart potential security risks.
  • Citrix DaaS Premium — This full-service apps and desktops offering enhances security to give IT true flexibility to manage on-prem and cloud environments together. This hybrid DaaS solution offers rapid provisioning, streamlined cloud management, and extensive tools to deliver hybrid-work solutions in one unified console. It combines all the capabilities of our Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Premium service and adds security capabilities such as malware protection, via app protection, and adaptive authentication controls that intelligently adjust based on user’s risk profile, via adaptive authentication.
  • Citrix DaaS Advanced Plus Throughout our research, you requested the ability for a more modular DaaS offering where you can add on select features as you prefer. The Citrix DaaS Advanced Plus package brings together the best of virtual apps and desktop capabilities into one offering, including all the features of our Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Advanced service — with advanced monitoring, remote PC access capabilities, scalability and performance enhancements, and premium features such as Session Recording, all while giving you the ability to add-on select capabilities like app protection, adaptive authentication, Citrix Analytics for Security, and/or Citrix Analytics for Performance.
  • Citrix DaaS Advanced We value our Citrix Virtual Apps customers and designed a package just for you. This purpose-built virtual app and multisession desktop offering includes all the capabilities of our Citrix Virtual Apps Advanced service today plus premium features such as our Session Recording to strengthen your overall security posture. In addition, you can add on select capabilities like app protection, adaptive authentication, Citrix Analytics for Security, and/or Citrix Analytics for Performance.

If you are an existing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service customer today, great news! You will be seamlessly transitioned into the associated Citrix DaaS service edition and receive the new functionality as part of your existing subscription.

When it comes to DaaS solutions, Citrix brings unique advantages across our strategic hyperscaler partnerships with Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. As you look to deliver Citrix DaaS solutions on your preferred hyperscaler we have designed some unique Citrix DaaS offerings to align with your preferences:

  • Microsoft Azure Citrix has two key offerings to highlight in partnership with Microsoft Azure. First is our Citrix DaaS Standard for Azure. This turnkey solution is designed for simplicity and fully integrates with Azure Virtual Desktop. This DaaS offering includes all the capabilities of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Standard for Azure, plus we are adding our Workspace Environment Management service to help you optimize user performance and scalability. We are also adding more flexibility by offering the ability to select one location to host your virtual apps and desktops — Azure or an on-premises hypervisor — to simplify your cloud transition. In addition, we are introducing the Citrix Optimization Pack for Azure Virtual Desktop as a fast, easy way for Microsoft and Citrix partners to showcase the value-add scalability and performance benefits of Citrix with a native Azure Virtual Desktop deployment.
  • Google Cloud Citrix and Google announced our strengthened partnership to deliver Google’s first DaaS solution as the integration of Citrix and Google Cloud together. Our joint engineering teams have been executing on that promise, and we are delighted to announce two new Citrix DaaS for Google Cloud offerings: Citrix DaaS Standard for Google Cloud as a purpose-built solution for quickly deploying apps and desktops on Google Cloud, and Citrix DaaS Premium for Google Cloud for customers with existing VDI deployments looking to modernize their app and desktop solution. Both packages will soon be available in monthly and annual subscriptions in the Google Cloud marketplace.

Expanding Citrix Secure Private Access

As previously announced Citrix Secure Private Access is our new cloud delivered zero trust network access (ZTNA) service designed to help your business meet today’s modern security standards — without compromising employee productivity. Today we are announcing two new editions of Secure Private Access that include new capabilities like adaptive authentication and adaptive access to deliver secure access to internal web, SaaS, and even client-server (TCP and UDP) applications that help alleviate the need for traditional and insecure VPNs. These two new packages include:

  • Citrix Secure Private Access Standard This new offering includes all the capabilities of our existing Citrix Workspace Essentials and provides ZTNA to web and SaaS IT sanctioned applications, Citrix Workspace Browser, end-to-end monitoring of traffic across IT sanctioned apps, and single sign-on (SSO), with a focus on optimizing the employee experience, specifically designed to simplified deployment for small businesses.
  • Citrix Secure Private Access Advanced — This is the expansion of our existing Secure Workspace Access offering, including all the enhanced security benefits such as remote browser isolation as well as anti-keylogger and screen capture malware protections, which provide additional protection to IT-sanctioned applications. Now, we are also adding even more security capabilities including ZTNA to all IT-sanctioned applications, with support for client-server apps, adaptive authentication, adaptive access and security controls based on device posture (state of the end-user device), user location or the risk score of a user, protecting against unauthorized use of any sensitive or corporate data stored in your apps.

Citrix is announcing new Content Collaboration offerings designed to meet your unique business needs.

  • Content Collaboration Essentials Organize your work and client data the way you want. This new Essentials offer empowers secure access to your apps, your content, your workflows, and your clients’ data, organized in ways that make sense.
