NY Gov. Hochul Wins Convention Vote As Party's Nominee For Governor


New York Governor, Kathy Hochul (D) overwhelmingly wins Convention Vote to be Party's Nominee for Governorw New York State in 2022.

She has been designated the Democratic Nominee for a Full Term of her own, garnering more than 85% of the weighted Vote, from the Delegates Thursday, at the State Democratic Convention in New York City.

Her next closest Opponent, New York City Public Advocate, Jumaane Williams (D), received 12%. He needed to get 25% to Automatically appear on a Primary Ballot in June. Williams will now have to Petition his way to the Primary Ballot.

The other Democrat in the Race, U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi (D), is also mounting a Primary Challenge against her. He will need to Petition his way onto the Ballot as well.

You need For any Office to be filled by All the Voters of the entire State, 15,000 signatures, with at least 100 or 5% of Enrolled Voters from each of One-half of the 27 Congressional Districts.

Hochul, who became Lieutenant Governor in 2015, became Governor back in August, 2021, when then Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) Resigned over Allegations of Sexual Harassment.

Hochul said at that time she would seek a Full Term as Governor in this fall's Election.

The Party likes what it’s got going on, and has also backed: Incumbents: Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin, Attorney General Tish James, Comptroller Tom Dinapoli, and U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer for Reelection.
