An active weather pattern ahead across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures in the Far West, across the North, and along the Atlantic Seaboard, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail from the southern Rockies into the middle and lower Mississippi Valley.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions across the southern Rockies and adjacent High Plains.
