[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m not sure I have the most representative of Suqqu Spring 2022 with these samples because on their Instagram page it all looks bright and cheery but I have noticed that a lot of brands have stayed safe with a blend of nudes and neutrals for the season. So, I have the Shunrai Lipstick (11), the Yoiurushi Blush (07) and the Murakomo Nail Polish (140) to show you today that slot into the neutral category.

Suqqu Spring 2022

Suqqu has done away with lipstick lids (bear with me!). You buy the base and the lid separately so that you only ever need one lid at a time. Instead, when you buy a lipstick, you’ll get a cap to use to seal in the moisture and allow it to stay fresh and if you need to take it out and about you can use the lid you have and seal the lipstick you’re not using with the cap. Now, I really do understand that this is a significant packaging saving but those little caps have ‘I will be lost immediately’ written all over them. It’s going to take a very, very tidy person to keep a hold of them OR someone with only a few lipsticks to keep a track of (I don’t know this person!).

The shade Shunrai (£33 HERE) is a nutty, gingery-pink nude – it’s rather warm and I think is better for warmer tones although will be beautifully offset by blue eyes (if you’re feeling daring, try a little bit on your lids). The finish is a silky matte.

The Yoiurushi Blush (£39 HERE) is a deep brick shade – again more suited to warmer or deeper tones. It’s a shade I can wear in summer when my tone is warm (and I’m making heavy use of TanLuxe) but not otherwise.

The nail polish in Murakumo (£18) is my favourite piece – it’s described as a tea beige and I can’t wait to get it on my nails. There’s an iridescent shimmer running through it that elevates it from a plain neutral although it’s only really evident when the light hits it (which I rather like).

In context, with the other shades, it’s just the kind of spring sorbet colour (I’d call it a latte beige) that your eyes start to crave in around February March time when we are all up to here with grey. It’s not in store yet but coming soon.
