Voting Machine Maker Smartmatic Sues My Pillow CEO For Defamation


Robins Kaplan and Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, filed a Defamation Lawsuit against My Pillow Inc. and its CEO Michael J. Lindell, on Tuesday, in Minnesota District Court, on behalf of Smartmatic and its Parent Company SGO Corporation Limited.

The Suit accuses Lindell of Spreading Disinformation about the Smartmatic Voting Machines used in the 2020 Presidential Election.

Counsel have Not yet appeared for the Defendants.

Smartmatic brings Defamation and Minnesota Deceptive Trade Practices Claims, against Defendants Michael J. Lindell and his company MyPillow.

Smartmatic seeks to Recover for the Economic and Non-Economic Damage caused by Defendants’ Disinformation Campaign, Punitive Damages, Attorneys’ Fees and Costs, and a Permanent Injunction. Total value to be determined.

Finally, Smartmatic seeks a Declaration, requiring Defendants to Retract their False Statements and Implications Fully and Completely.
