Rebranding will provide clean fuels policy opportunities

Clean Fuels Alliance America rebranding could expand policy goal opportunities.

Kurt Kovarik is the vice president of federal affairs.

“Clean Fuels Alliance America gives us an opportunity to have new conversation with offices that maybe don’t have that same strong tie with the agriculture industry, where the biodiesel industry was born out of,” he says.

He says biodiesel, renewable diesel, and sustainable aviation fuels will continue to grow and meet climate and energy goals.

“Perhaps we’ll have better engagement with offices on the east and west coast who care more about climate change and environmental justice issues,” he says. “we’re hopeful it gives us a new opportunity to engage and tell our story.”

He says Clean Fuels Alliance America is a recognition that the industry has many members producing many different fuels from different feedstocks.

The organization unveiled the new name and brand during the 2022 National Biodiesel Conference and Expo.

“The National Biodiesel Board, in our view, was a little bit limiting in terms of what we were bringing to the table, who our members were, and the fuels they were producing.”

The conference continues through Thursday.
