Very cold weather to dominate the Corn Belt in the days ahead

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of colder-than-normal conditions across the eastern half of the U.S., while near- or above-normal temperatures will prevail from the Pacific Coast to the High Plains.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in eastern Maine, southern sections of Florida and Texas, the northern Plains, and the upper Great Lakes region.
