What stores and restaurants are open Christmas 2021? Walgreens, CVS, some Domino's, Dunkin' and more
Kelly TykoIf you were counting on a trip to Walmart to pick up a final Christmas gift or forgotten ingredient, think again.
This year, Christmas is one of two days that the world’s largest retailer closes all of its U.S. stores. The majority of the nation's retailers also close for the holiday, including Target, Macy's, Kohl's, Home Depot and more.
There are a few exceptions. Most Walgreens and CVS locations will be open along with several convenience stores including 7-Eleven, Wawa, Sheetz and Cumberland Farms.
Many major restaurant chains, including Olive Garden, Taco Bell and Chick-fil-A also will be closed Saturday, but many Starbucks, McDonald's and Dunkin' locations will be open, along with IHOP, Denny's and Waffle House.

Is Walmart closed Christmas 2021?
Yes, all Walmart stores are closed for Christmas, a long-running tradition. But since the pandemic, it's no longer the only day of the year stores are closed. Stores closed on Thanksgiving for the second year in a row after being open on the holiday since the late 1980s.
Stores will reopen Sunday, Dec. 26 with regular hours. For most stores, hours are 6 a.m.to 11 p.m.

Costco closed Christmas, New Year's Day
Costco traditionally stays closed on major holidays including Thanksgiving, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Clubs will also be closed on New Year's Day.

Is Target open on Christmas?
No, Target stores are closed this Christmas and stores will be closed every Thanksgiving moving forward, a decision announced in November.

Stores open Christmas 2021
Hours can vary and not all locations will be open. In some cases, store websites have not been updated to reflect holiday hours, so call your closest location or check your apps before heading out.
Albertsons: Some locations will be closed all day, while others will close between 5 and 9 p.m.
ARKO Corp convenience stores (Brands include E-Z Mart, fas mart, Scotchman, Admiral, Roadrunner and Village Pantry)
Casey's General Store: Stores and kitchens open 10 a.m. Christmas.
EG America (includes Cumberland Farms, KwikShop, QuikStop and Turkey Hill)
Giant Food: Hours vary.
Instacart: Delivery will be available "matching most local retailer hours in the majority of markets where Instacart operates," the company told USA TODAY.
QuickChek: Stores open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. but most locations with fuel are open 24 hours.
Save A Lot: Varies, most locations closed on Christmas.
Safeway: Some locations will be closed, while others will close between 5 and 9 p.m.
Vons: Most stores open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More businesses open: Additional stores, gas stations and convenience stores also are expected to be open.

After Christmas sales start Sunday
Although there has been less holiday merchandise available this year because of supply chain constraints, expect to find after-Christmas sales starting Sunday with markdowns while supplies last. Bath & Body Works also will begin its semi-annual sale with up to 75% off select items.
Prepare for long return lines Sunday and the days after as some look to exchange or return unwanted gifts.

Restaurants open Christmas 2021
The following restaurant chains have select locations open in some capacity. Some dining rooms may be closed, and many may be offering a more limited menu or only takeout and delivery.
Check with your closest location before heading out as not all locations are open. Some restaurant websites do not have updated holiday hours so call ahead or check apps for more information.
Applebee's: Select restaurants nationwide will be open on Christmas Day but hours may be reduced.
Bar Louie: Open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Buffalo Wild Wings: A few select sports bars are open and hours will vary by location.
Domino's: Many locations are closed but the store locator includes Christmas hours for some locations.
Panda Express: Some restaurants open.
Papa John's: Select locations are open.
Pizza Hut: The majority of locations are closed but a few restaurants open late afternoon on Christmas, the company told USA TODAY.
TGI Fridays: Varies, but some locations open from 3 to 11 p.m.
More restaurants: Some locally-owned restaurants and regional chains will be open Christmas and restaurants located in hotels often are open on holidays.
Dunkin' and Starbucks open Christmas Day
Many Dunkin' and Starbucks locations will be open for the holiday but expect hours to be limited.
Fast food open on Christmas: McDonald's, Burger King and more
Not all locations will be open. Fast-food chain apps allow you to order ahead, get discounts and check hours.
Subway: Restaurants are individually owned and operated, so hours can vary by location.
Wendy's: Varies, but the fast-food chain told USA TODAY most locations operate with their normal hours.
