Topical Christmas Mail Time!

It is Topical Christmas Mail Time! Ho Ho Ho!

Before beginning, I hope this finds you doing great and pacing yourself for the holidays! This year we are trying something different with Cooper being five years old, we got a live Christmas tree today and put it up this afternoon. So far so good with our Brittany Spaniel. It means his tree is NOT on the dining room table and instead on a table top in my office. The photo of my Holiday Mailbox I took with his tree earlier today showing it in the blog post title card today! Also, buying a fresh cut tree is a bit of sticker shock and something I’ll be writing more about in my Christmas newsletter with my cards I’ll be sending out this year!

Let's get started with today's post on Topical Christmas Mail Time!

With thinking of dressing up our Holiday cards with our letter writing it is especially exciting discovering this week there are TWO Christmas online events – one is for Christmas Mail Art & Postmarks, and the other on “The Christmas Philatelic Club: Where it is Always Christmas”. They are BOTH this Wednesday, details below!  So you’ll want to act quickly, I did not want the opportunity to slip by without sharing about them both with you.

Christmas Mail Art and Postmarks Webinar this week by APS

First, there is the American Philatelic Society Christmas Mail Art and Postmarks Webinar on December 8th, at 6:30 PM Eastern.

It is a virtual stamp chat – with hands on at your end engaging virtually with the leader, Irv Osterer and his grandson Joey; click here to register.

“… they guide you through a brief history of Christmas mail art and postmarks, and show you how to make and service a unique piece of mail art for Christmas 2021 to send to family and friends.”

At that above link it includes the list of materials you will need for the workshop, Christmas Card ENVELOPE(S), 10 Mini CANDY CANES, Small cans of hobby Spray Paint, and Red, Green, Gold, Black SHARPIE markers or Pencil Crayons.

Discovering there is a Christmas Philatelic Club

Next, and it is news to me there is a Christmas Philatelic Club! Through the APS C3 they are having an online one-hour seminar this Wednesday, December 8 from 8-9pm Eastern.

The last day for registering is tomorrow, December 6th.  For non APS Members it is $10, and free to APS members (American Philatelic Society.)

“The Christmas Philatelic Club: Where it is Always Christmas (A Virtual Learning Event)The Christmas Philatelic Club: Where it is Always Christmas (A Virtual Learning Event)”

“There are an unlimited number of ways to enjoy the holiday season, one of which is the collecting of Christmas stamps, covers, postal markings, seals, and much more. Unwrap your holiday spirit as you discover that there is more to collecting than you have previously considered.”

Before closing, you will want to be sure to be on the lookout for my blog post next Sunday morning. I’m doing something different and which has been on my mind to do with the Holidays for several years here. With Christmas less than three weeks away, here’s to a great week ahead and pacing ourselves – and keeping an eye out for Cooper and our tree!
