Home Office Christmas Décor

Red and White Christmas décor in office
One of the rooms in our home that I use the most is the office, which is our previous formal dining room. It's also one of the first rooms I like to decorate for Christmas because it is the command center for everything Christmas décor around the house.

This year I'm using plenty of bright red accompanied by dark hues in a few rooms. However, here in the office, I wanted to keep things bright. Lots of white and red are the main colors I used in this space.

I went to our basement to dig up the old red rug that I love to use during winter/Christmas. It's thick and soft, and walking on it feels so nice.

Then, I asked the mister to help me move the table and there I laid my pretty rug.

It looked good. So bright and cheery!

Well, I might say, it looked good for only a day, because by the next morning this room looked overwhelmingly warm! :D

You can see it right here:

I had to remove the red rug and oh my, things cooled down immediately.

Don't you agree?

The other big change in this room is the wallpaper covering the white planks. I love the hexagon motif of this peel & stick wallpaper. It almost looks like little red stars or snowflakes.

Now, these big paper stars were hung from the ceiling using clear fishing lines and eye hooks.

Books and gifts adorn the shelves.

On the table: wrapping paper, clippings from the yard, ribbons, and most of what I need for wrapping those presents are at hand.

Oh, that little tray on the side is a gift from my daughter, she made it during her pottery class. It's made out of clay and I'm enamored with that wood grain engraving.

On the other side of the table that shy little ram is trying to hide under those flocked trees.

Underneath the table, I always keep a basket full of supplies.

On the other side of the room, the chalkboard got a fresh new look.

You can make your chalkboard designs as easy or as complicated as you want them to be.

I went the easy way. ;)

Back to the shelves, Santa is keeping post at the very top.

This little planter is another handmade design by one of my daughter's friends.

Love the little trees she added.

Well, I've been very happy working in this bright room!

Ha, remember the red rug?

It was sent to the contiguous living room and it looks so good in there. You can check it out right HERE.

In other news, this year I'm once again joining my friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life and a group of blogger friends on our annual Christmas Home Tours.

Five days full of Christmas décor galore!

  1. Love everything about this room! I made very few changes from last year except for the all season room that has been decked in stewart plaid! But I really do love all the bright reds and whites…hum…I do have a few rooms that are a tad “Christmas bare.” May have to make another trip to hobby lobby…lol

  2. I love this room so much! The peel and stick wallpaper is a genius idea for quickly updating a space. I'm not usually a fan of red and white even at Christmastime but your office looks so gorgeous, I've changed my mind!
