The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has raided the Colorado home of a Republican election official accused of being involved in a leak that compromised sensitive election data.

According to Vice News, Mesa County, Colo., election clerk Tina Peters is "accused of allowing an unauthorized person access to a secure room where voting machines are stored, and permitting them to copy sensitive information from those machines." The raid on Peters' home took place on Tuesday, November 16, and was one of four conducted on the same day.

Speaking to Colorado Politics, District Attorney Dan Rubinstein confirmed his office assisted the FBI in carrying out the raids as he noted that a search was also executed on the home of Sherronna Bishop, Rep. Lauren Boebert's (R-Colo.) former campaign manager.

"We executed four federally court-authorized operations today to gather evidence in connection with the investigation into the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's Office," Rubinstein said. "We did so with assistance from the DA's office from the 21st Judicial District, the Attorney General's Office, and the FBI."

Peters, who become a known name in the election conspiracy world back in August when she appeared alongside MyPillow CEO and election conspiracist Mike Lindell, also shared details about the raid.

"The FBI raided my home at 6 a.m. this morning, accusing me of committing a crime," Peters said Tuesday on Lindell TV. "And they raided the homes of my friends, mostly older women. I was terrified."

She also revealed authorities "used a battering ram" and destroyed the front door of a friend's home who was also included in the raid. According to Peters, the search lasted "about three hours" and they "took all of my electronics."

Peters' remarks come as Colorado's Independent Ethics Commission moved forward with the investigative complaint that accuses Peters of violating "a state constitutional gift ban by accepting flights on a private plane and other travel expenses from Lindell."

"Essentially, they were soldiers in combat gear. They were not men in suits with badges," Peters said. "They looked very much like they were in a combat zone—soldiers with automatic weapons and combat gear."

She added, "I feel that if I was to give up now, I would be giving up on our country. You do the right thing and you see your government come down on you like that, this is the worse nightmare you can imagine."

"They want to shut me up, shut me out, prosecute me, do whatever they can to villainize and demonize me just to cover up their dirty deeds," she said, adding, "I can't unsee what I've seen."

During his appearance on Steve Bannon's show, Lindell has also falsely claimed, "[They're] coming after citizens that have done nothing wrong."
