Best Buy kicks off its official Black Friday sale a week early.

While Nov. 26 is Black Friday proper, the Minneapolis-based electronics retailer starts its sale Friday, Nov. 19. It started holding early sales in October and unveiled a “Black Friday Price Guarantee" on select items.

“We’re so excited about the holiday season, so we decided to throw out the calendar this year,” Keegan Shoutz, a Best Buy spokesperson, told USA TODAY. “We’ve had some of our Black Friday deals available since mid-October, and now we’re kicking off thousands of the hottest deals a whole week early to make sure our customers get a great price on the gifts they want most.”

Most Best Buy deals will start Nov. 19 including discounted televisions, computers, gadgets, small kitchen appliances and more, the company announced Wednesday. Some deals will be rolled out throughout the week with additional specials added Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The deals will go live this Friday at BestBuy.com/BlackFriday. Stores will be closed on Thanksgiving for the second year in a row amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The retailer did not announce an end date for the sale but the deals are expected to be available while supplies last, or prior to the next big sales event – Cyber Monday.

This year, experts have been recommending that consumers start shopping for holiday gifts ahead of Thanksgiving and Black Friday, which is often seen as the official kickoff to the holiday shopping season, because of ongoing supply chain bottlenecks.

Amazon, Walmart and Target unveiled their official Black Friday sales this week after holding earlier sales. Other retailers also have early deals that are spread out like last year. (Learn more about retailers’ holiday shopping plans here.)

"We're heading into the most competitive part of the year. Everybody wants to have that perfect gift for their customers," Best Buy CEO Corie Barry said Oct. 14 on NBC's Today Show. "And what we're seeing is we're going to continue to be priced incredibly competitively. We don't see prices going up markedly unexpectedly from here and in fact if anything there's going to be great deals."
