Morgan Wallen takes another step back into the spotlight with Dangerous Tour announcement

Morgan Wallen hits the road in 2022, kicking off an arena tour nearly a year to the day after a video surfaced of him shouting a racial slur in Nashville.  

Wallen kicks off "The Dangerous Tour" Feb. 3, 2022 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. A 45+ show tour, the embattled country singer plots performances inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, among others. 

Wallen returns to the downtown Nashville venue on March 17, 2022. Country singers Hardy and Larry Fleet open the show. Tickets go on sale Friday via ticketmaster.com. 

His tour announcement marks the latest — an arguably largest — step in Wallen returning to the limelight after a video published last February captured the singer shouting a racial slur in Nashville. Backlash came swiftly for Wallen, but proved only temporary. Months after radio programmers, booking agents and award shows banished Wallen, he's returned to securing airplay, playing one-off gigs and fueling award season debate.

Wallen made his first planned return to the stage last September at Marathon Music Works for a concert benefitting Waverly flood relief. Prior to that, he crashed Luke Bryan's headlining concert last summer at Bridgestone Arena and played a pop-up show at Kid Rock's downtown Nashville bar. 

Sales for Wallen's early 2021 release "Dangerous: The Double Album" surged after the racial slur video surfaced; it has become one of the best-selling releases of the year. 

The "Dangerous" tour runs through much of next year, wrapping Sept. 24, 2022, in Los Angeles.
