Zayn Malik pleads no contest to charges he harassed Gigi Hadid, mom Yolanda Hadid

Zayn Malik pleaded no contest Wednesday to charges that he harassed his girlfriend, supermodel Gigi Hadid, and her mother, Yolanda Hadid, during an allegedly violent argument at the family’s home in Pennsylvania, according to court documents.

Police charged Malik, 28, with four counts of harassment stemming from a Sept. 29 incident at the couple's Pennsylvania home. Malik allegedly grabbed and shovedYolanda Hadid "into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain," according to the documents.

The former One Direction singer also "communicated lewd, lascivious, threatening or obscene words" toward both Gigi, 26, and Yolanda Hadid, 57, telling the latter to "stay away from my (expletive) daughter."

Malik also told Gigi Hadid to “defend your partner against your (expletive) mother in my house,” according to charging documents filed in Bucks County.

Malik entered a plea to the four counts of harassment Wednesday. The plea means that Malik refused to admit guilt but accepted the punishment. In a previous statement to TMZ, the singer said he "adamantly" denied striking Yolanda Hadid.

Probation could be lifted in six months if Malik satisfies the conditions, according to documents.

"Despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been 'leaked' to the press," Malik wrote in a statement posted to Twitter. "I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly, I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves."

In a statement to to People and E! News, the supermodel's rep said, "Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time."
