USDA announces 2022 conservation funding opportunities

USDA is announcing funding opportunities for next year that target ag producers and private landowners.

The agency says while applications for the Environmental Quality Incentives, Conservation Stewardship, Ag Conservation Easement, and Ag Management Assistance programs are taken year-round, producers and landowners should apply by state-specific ranking dates to be considered.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Chief Terry Cosby says conservation programs are good for natural resources and a farm’s bottom line, and he encourages those interested to contact their local NRSC office.

State Technical Committees, composed of conservation and ag-related agency and organization representatives, work with NRCS to identify resource priorities to help guide the state-specific ranking dates.
