Ventura College area council to discuss mental health, homeless services

​​The Ventura College Area Community Council will discuss mental health and homeless services in Ventura County and a citywide transportation plan during a virtual meeting 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Former Behavioral Health Advisory Board member Mary Haffner will discuss improvements needed in Ventura County mental health services. Current board member Cheryl Heitmann will offer her perspective.

Consultant Tim Gallagher will discuss the city's transportation plan and its goals. According to the plan's website, the plan will "create a roadmap for priority projects and programs that will make walking, bicycling and taking transit great choices for all people living, working and visiting Ventura."

The neighborhood council represents residents in District 3, between Dunning Street/Lemon Grove Avenue and Hill Road, north of Highway 126.
