Milk futures lower, cash dairy trade mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange continued their trend lower Thursday while grains rallied again and cash markets were mixed.

September Class III milk down six cents at $16.54. October down eight cents at $17.27. November two cents lower at $16.96. December down a penny at $17.18. January through March contracts three cents lower to three cents higher.

Dry whey up $0.0050 at $0.57.

Blocks down $0.0175 at $1.7075.

Barrels down $0.02 at $1.60.

Butter up $0.03 at $1.7525. Seven trades were made from $1.75 to $1.7625.

Nonfat dry milk up $0.01 at $1.37. Two trades were made at that price.
