Milk futures, cash dairy trade mostly lower

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed lower at midweek as did most cash markets while grains found strength.

September Class III milk down a penny at $16.58. October down 12 cents at $17.15. November five cents lower at $17.06. December down eight cents at $17.40. January through March contracts four cents lower to four cents higher.

Dry whey unchanged at $0.5250.

Blocks down $0.0050 at $1.7950. Three trades were made from $1.7750 to $1.7950.

Barrels up $0.0050 at $1.4925. Five sales were made from $1.4925 to $1.50.

Butter unchanged at $1.8275. Seven sales were made at $1.82 and $1.8275.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.0025 at $1.33. One sale was made at that price.
