Iowa farmer says crops are looking good

Southwestern Iowa farmer Kevin Ross says his are looking good.

“We got a little bit to go but I’m really hopeful for our crop this year,” he says.

Ross tells brownfield “southwest Iowa looks really good. I’ve said it all year long, up and down the Missouri River I think it’s about the most consistent that those river bottoms have looked in a number of years.”

He says harvest is quickly approaching.

“We’re sitting really good on moisture,” he says. “Give me the 80 degrees and a light breeze from here on out and we’ll see these crops move right along and finish up really a good manner.”

Ross is chairman of the National Corn Growers Association. He raises corn, soybeans, and cattle in Minden.
