Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) attempt to take a verbal jab at Patton Oswalt, things probably did not turn out as he expected. The comedian quickly turned the tables, making him the laughing stock. On Thursday, September 9,

On Thursday, September 9, Cruz targeted Oswalt after he declined to perform at multiple venues refusing to require attendees to provide documentation of a negative COVID test or proof of vaccination.

"Both of his fans were disappointed," Cruz tweeted.

Oswalt wasted no time firing back at the Texas lawmaker. The stand-up comedian hit Cruz with several one-line jabs taking aim at his political career shortcomings.

From his disastrous Cancun vacation during the Texas winter storm to his support of conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election and a number of other embarrassing occurrences, Oswalt did not hold back.




Twitter users also chimed in with their reaction to the verbal sparring match.



The comedian concluded saying, "Well, that was fun," describing the lawmaker as "a friendless, cowardly embarrassment."
