NY Gov. Cuomo Filed Retirement Papers

Soon to be a Citizen, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), filed Retirement Papers with the State to receive a $50,000 Annual Lifetime Pension.

The date of Retirement is Sept. 1st, 2021, a Spokesperson for the State Comptroller’s Office, said Tuesday.

Under current Law, neither Resignation or Impeachment for alleged Misconduct, bars Eligibility from obtaining a Pension for State Service.

Cuomo’s windfall is coming because he has accumulated 15 years of State Service, thanks to his 11 years as Governor and Four years as Attorney General.

Currently, only a Felony Conviction can Trigger Pension Forfeiture. There are now Five Cases of Sexual Harassment working through the Courts.

The Legislature is discussing a Bill to take away the Pension, but it will have to be Retroactive.

Cuomo issued Clemency for 10 people in his last days as Governor.

Cuomo fully Pardoned Five People and Commuted the Sentences of another Five, A pardon wipes away a Conviction, while a Commutation shortens a Sentence but lets the Conviction stand.
